From New York Magazine: Sexism

‘‘These five [team members] are obliged to practice daily; to walk every afternoon; to drink milk or cocoa, and eat only toast for breakfast, and—greatest and most trying ordeal of all—are solemnly pledged to abjure the thing dearest to the schoolgirl palate. For under no circumstances may the varsity team eat fudge."
What, was this written in the team contract? Did fudge brownies count? Did fudge brownies even exist back then? What about ice cream sundaes? Was the junior varsity team allowed to eat fudge then?
