I was never that fascinated with electronics. If it functioned properly, it was good enough. Save the money for the clothes, I thought.
But you know, I really like texting. And browsing the internet. And chatting on Google Talk. And Facebook. And Twitter. And checking my email obsessively. And obviously, talking on the phone like any other teenage girl. I'm embarrassingly a tech geek when it comes to socializing.
So my new smartphone, the Blackberry Curve 8310, just might be a blessing -- or a curse in disguise:
On one hand, I still remember an incident last summer at my internship for Seventeen when I still had a phone that couldn't check email (turns out all of the editors and interns had Blackberry phones). The location for the photoshoot had been changed and I, needing to get to the SoHo location from the Upper West Side by 8:00am, left my residence before the "change of location" email was sent out. You can probably guess what happened. I may never have this problem again.
On the other hand, I'm starting to sleep with my phone under my pillow. I'm not the only person who does this...right?
